It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Robert “Bob” Crumley (1937-2022). Bob was a major figure in the history and success of Rockett Inc. He joined the company in February 1973, bringing with him an already vast accumulation of engineering knowledge and sales experience in our primary business at that time- building kiln cars and running gear for the brick & ceramic industry. Rockett was a perfect match for Bob’s combined mastery of hand-drawn drafting, practical engineering, fabrication know-how, and consummate salesmanship.
Over the years he helped grow the company and establish many long-term customer relationships still going strong today. It is no exaggeration to say that Bob helped build this country and many others. The kiln cars and wheels he helped design and construct were/are still being used to make bricks and various ceramic products in all parts of North America and well beyond. Always a character; Bob greatly enjoyed watching jobs evolve in the shop, joking with employees, and visiting with customers; many of whom became close friends over the decades. Bob retired from Rockett in 2013 leaving an indelible stamp on this company. Thank you Bob!
